Who is behind AI UVD, and why trust them with our systems?

AI UVD is a Birmingham-based firm applying AI to operations businesses that run on real systems: ERP, WMS, EDI and bespoke software. It is led by Sam Naseem, Founder, Solutions Architect & System Author, Architectural Judgement for Complex Systems, with more than 20 years of making those systems work together. Trust should rest on how it works. Positions are written down. Access to your systems is asked for narrowly and in writing. Read access comes first.

Making systems talk to each other

Sam Naseem has spent more than 20 years connecting the systems operations businesses depend on. ERP. EDI between trading partners. Barcodes on the warehouse floor. Audit trails that have to stand up when someone asks who changed what.

That work is mostly invisible when it goes right. Orders arrive, stock moves, invoices match. It is very visible when it goes wrong, which is why it is done carefully.

He is an ISB Executive Alumnus, holding a certificate in Leadership with AI.

Sam Naseem also works independently as a solutions architect and design authority: samnaseem.com.

The rule I work by

I don't promise what I couldn't deliver alone.

Sam Naseem

No part of the work is handed on until I understand it well enough to judge it and, if it goes wrong, to rescue it. That rule also sets the limit on what this site offers: if I could not deliver it myself, it is not on here.

Who you'll work with

Every engagement is architected and delivered by me. The person who scopes the work is the person who builds it.

  • Sam Naseem, Founder, Solutions Architect & System Author, Architectural Judgement for Complex Systems: the architecture, anything that touches your live systems, security and data boundaries, and every design decision.
  • Accounts lead: proposals, contracts and invoices.
  • Trusted engineers, brought in when a project's requirements call for it: people I have worked with, whose work I review, and named in the proposal if they will have access to your systems.
  • AI agents I have trained and direct, for the rest of the engineering, research, drafting and testing, under my review of every design decision and every deliverable. Each service page says what they are never allowed to touch.

I am in every technical meeting and every design decision. Judgement, architecture and the relationship with you are always mine.

Why AI UVD exists

My view is simple. A model that reads an email well is now easy to get. Connecting it to a twenty-year-old ERP, so its output lands against the right account with a record of who approved it, is not. That is the part I work on.

AI UVD exists to help UK operations businesses running ERP, WMS and long-lived bespoke systems make the decisions that part depends on. It was founded in January 2026.

How I work

  • Time with the technology. I spend hours every day with the technology itself, and that time is protected, which is why I can tell you what it will and won't do today.
  • Writing first. Positions and decisions are written down. A call happens when it helps, not by default.
  • Fixed scope. The first conversation is free. Anything after it is scoped and priced in writing before it starts.
  • AI agents in our own delivery. Agents I have trained draft, research and test under my review, so fewer engineering hours go into each deliverable. That is the model: fixed prices and a shorter route to a working result. Judgement, architecture and anything touching your systems stay with me.
  • Small, so quick to decide. Decisions are made in the room with the person who designs the system. If the work shows a better route mid-project, changing course is a written note, not a change-request process.
  • Numbers. Prices in pounds. Where there is no number yet, the writing says why.
  • Measured before it is trusted. An agent is tested on your own past items before it touches live work, then runs in shadow with a person checking every output. A private model is compared with a hosted one on a matched test set your data owner approves. "Not yet" is an answer I give.
  • I say what is simple. If a task is easy, or a tool you already have does the job, I say so. The price is for the outcome and the experience behind it, not for making things look hard.
  • Careful with access. Access to your systems is asked for narrowly and in writing. Read access comes first.

Frequently asked questions

Who else have you done this for?

No client is named or quoted on this site, and that does not change. What you can weigh instead is the experience behind the work, more than 20 years of connecting ERP, EDI, barcodes and audit trails, and what each service page puts in writing: the method, the price, what you get, what you don't, and what can go wrong. The first conversation is the place to put all of that against your own systems.

What happens if Sam Naseem is unavailable?

Sam works from anywhere with an internet connection, so travel does not pause an engagement. He is not away from the work, but he can be out of contact for a stretch, so urgent matters do not wait on him: for a system he delivers, he usually sets up named owners inside your own business — your own people, named during delivery and walked through the runbook at handover — who deal with anything urgent. Whether that is part of a given engagement is agreed in the proposal, not assumed. If he is ever unable to work, the accounts lead tells you, and AI UVD makes no change to your systems until he is back. The work itself is protected by method, not headcount. Decisions are written down and handed over. Build work is handed over with a runbook and a recorded handover. Your business owns the code and configuration built for it.

Why should we trust you with access to our systems?

Access to your systems is asked for narrowly and in writing. Read access comes first. Any change to a live system is agreed in writing first, with the fewest permissions that do the job. The proposal names who will have access.

What covers the risk of working with a small firm?

Four things. Prices are fixed, in writing, before work starts. Every output is written down and handed over. An agent runs in shadow, with a person checking every output, before it touches live work. And I can personally deliver, or rescue, any part of the work. Being small also works in your favour: the person you put a question to is the person who designs the system, so the answer does not wait on a hand-off.

Where are you based, and do you come on site?

AI UVD is based in Birmingham and works with businesses across the UK. Much of the work is reading, writing and remote access. Most work is remote; on-site days in the West Midlands are included, and elsewhere travel is charged at cost.

How do we know the scope and price will hold?

Judge it on what is put in writing. The first conversation is free. Anything after it is scoped and priced in writing before it starts. Prices are in pounds, what is excluded is written down, and the proposal names who will have access to your systems.
